DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION

WE ARE COMMITTED TO CREATING A MORE INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL

The University of Delaware Panhellenic Council is dedicated to fostering a more welcoming, positive, and inclusive Panhellenic community. We acknowledge that our organization and its chapters have historically been predominantly comprised of white women, reflecting the demographics of our predominantly white institution. Our VP of DEI and Director of DEI are committed to addressing racial, economic, and social injustices, and to improving the diversity within our community.

Our aim is to collectively embed the values of inclusivity across all 12 chapters and to hold each member to these standards. Acting as an extension of the Panhellenic Executive Board, this council will empower Panhellenic women by promoting equity and embracing diversity in all its forms.

THE IMPORTANCE OF INCLUSION & BELONGING

Inclusivity and belonging are core values of the Panhellenic community at the University of Delaware. We believe inclusivity fosters a welcoming environment, while belonging ensures every member feels accepted and valued. Achieving a sense of belonging is crucial for anyone joining a community, and we are dedicated to making this a reality for all.

At UD Panhellenic, we are committed to transforming our historically exclusive environment to benefit our members and the broader community. To this end, we have established the role of Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on our executive board. This position is dedicated to addressing the lack of diversity within our community and actively working towards creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
