Sisters on Purpose
MEET CHI OMEGA
Chi Omega was founded in 1895 at the University of Arkansas and is now the largest women’s fraternal organization, with 178 chapters and over 330,000 initiates nationwide. Across these chapters, sisters strive for personal growth and development, embodying the qualities of well-balanced women who are deeply involved in their campuses and communities. The Rho Lambda chapter at the University of Delaware currently has over 200 active sisters who support, love, and care for one another unconditionally. We wholeheartedly support our national philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes for children with terminal illnesses. Additionally, we have recently adopted a local philanthropy, Exceptional Care for Children (ECC), located in Newark. ECC is a long-term care nursing facility for children who are unable to live at home due to being technologically dependent or requiring round-the-clock care.
Every year, we successfully grant a wish for a child through our philanthropy events, “Chi Hop” and “Home Run for Hope.” We also regularly volunteer at ECC, making fun crafts for the children residing there. The sisters of Chi Omega love getting to know other chapters in the Greek community by participating in philanthropy and Panhellenic events.
We are excited to give you a glimpse into our chapter and share the amazing memories, moments, and relationships we’ve built through Chi Omega. We look forward to meeting you!

HEAR FROM THEIR CHAPTER DELEGATE
Being a sister of Chi Omega has meant more to me than I could ever express—it’s a chapter where I’ve grown as a person, found purpose at UD, and built long lasting friendships. I see Chi Omega’s founding values—friendship, personal integrity, service to others, academic excellence, and community involvement—in each and every one of my sisters.
Serving on our executive board has allowed me to both step into leadership and connect with so many inspiring women—both in and outside of our chapter. As Panhellenic Delegate, I represent a sisterhood I’m genuinely proud to be a part of.
One of the moments that meant the most to us as a chapter was this past fall, when we had the privilege of granting a wish through our national philanthropy, Make-A-Wish. Coming together to celebrate Xavier and his family was a reminder of the real impact we can have when we unite around something bigger than ourselves.
Chi Omega has given me a sense of belonging, a space to lead, and a deeper understanding of what it means to serve others—and I’ll forever be grateful for that.
