At the University of Delaware, sorority recruitment occurs during two main periods: Spring Formal Recruitment and Continuous Open Bidding (COB).
Spring Recruitment is a structured mutual selection process where potential new members can engage with all 12 chapters on campus. This period allows PNM's to immerse themselves in each chapter's unique values, traditions, and sisterhood culture, providing a comprehensive introduction to sorority life at UD.
COB offers ongoing opportunities to connect with sororities who choose to participate, starting after Spring Recruitment and extending into the fall semester. These informal events allow PNMs to meet chapter members in a casual setting.
Whether you participate in Spring Recruitment or COB, Panhellenic at UD invites you to discover the lifelong bonds, leadership opportunities, and meaningful experiences that sorority membership can offer.
A LETTER FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Welcome to the University of Delaware’s Panhellenic Council website! We are thrilled with your interest in our community and encourage you to look around the website to continue to learn more!
University of Delaware’s Panhellenic Council consists of 12 National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Chapters with 3,000+ women in the community. Although each chapter has its differences, we as a community strive to live through our values, both NPC and individual chapter values, to create a welcoming and uplifting community. Through our values based recruitment process all of the women within our community have been able to find a place they can consider home. Every one of our chapters on campus have strong focuses on philanthropy, sisterhood, and academic excellence, ultimately creating well rounded and driven women in both their personal lives and in our community.
Speaking from personal experience, the community that has been fostered within the NPC chapters at the University of Delaware continues to push me and the other women in the community to be the best versions of ourselves. Recruitment can be both exciting and daunting, but it has ultimately been one of the most fulfilling decisions I have made during my college career.
I encourage you to take the leap and go through Panhellenic recruitment to find your home away from home!
