Involvement: The sisters of Alpha Phi hold an annual Red Dress Gala, where sisters and parents come together to raffle off gift baskets and auction items for the Alpha Phi Foundation. These women also host an annual Mac n Phi's, an all night event where sisters serve all-you-can-eat mac and cheese to students to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. Believe it or not, the mac and cheese isn't all you can eat! The women of APhi host a pancake night too! The sisters flip pancakes at the house to serve to anyone that's hungry. The APhi sisters also host Mr. Alpha Phi, a fundraiser contest where Fraternity bothers compete in different talents to see who will be crowned Mr. Alpha Phi!
Sisterhood: Alpha Phi celebrated 50 years at UD in 2022 with more than 2,000 proud Blue Hen alums (and counting!) APhi was chartered at UD in 1972, making it one of the first sororities on campus, as well as the longest active chapter at UD. As current sister, Angela Citarella put it “When you become an Alpha Phi, you get endless closets to “shop” in, tears in your eyes from laughing so hard and memories that’ll last a lifetime. This sisterhood is truly one of a kind and something that I can say has completely changed my college experience for the good."
Words from the Chapter President: "Alpha Phi has brought me so much happiness over the past 2 years. Especially living in the phouse this year, I am honored to know so many amazing women. Our sisterhood is unlike any other and I know these women will be in my life forever. Alpha Phi creates a positive environment to grow and become a better friend, sister, and leader. I couldn’t imagine my life without these girls and I am so lucky to be an Alpha Phi."
-Julia Kochie, Chapter President

HEAR IT FROM A SISTER:
“Being in a sorority has allowed me to get involved in ways I never thought possible. It is so rewarding to be a part of something bigger than myself and creating memories with all of my sisters. I have been able to help raise money and awareness for the Alpha Phi Foundation, and I have made friendships that will last a lifetime.”
